Woohoo! and Happy 4th of July!

I finished backing up my iMac yesterday, and proceeded with the installation of Vista as a virtual machine in Fusion. It wasn’t difficult, but I can’t say it was seamless either. The Toolset did not want to install, but I eventually got it.

I now have Bernina DP5, My Label, Pattern Master Boutique V4, Electric Quilt 6 and Microsoft Money running in a virtual mode, awesome! The only of of those that gave me any grief was My Label. It doesn’t like to run in Vista period, and add a virtual environment to that… but it’s working! I was able to apply each programs patches as well, no difficulties there.

I’ve made my peace with Apple Mail, I finally figured out that the “smart” mailboxes are the problem. Once I set up standard mailboxes, the filters behave “normally” and all is well in my over organized cyber world again!

Jim is actually taking a 3 day weekend, unheard of! We hope to get some projects caught up on around here… we’ve got to re-organize the garage, measure for shelves and go get some so I can finally finish unpacking the RV basement and the Featherlite, there’s mostly garage type stuff left and I have no place to put it. I think Jim’s going to try and finalize his plans for the shop, as we’re way past due on getting a builder out here, he just hasn’t had time to deal with it.

I’ll probably do bacon and eggs on the grill when Jim wakes up, if it isn’t raining. Boy I wish we’d been able to start our orchard this Spring instead of this Fall, with all the rain it’s been a perfect year for it. That’s another thing I’d like to do this weekend, sit down with Jim and pick out our fruit trees and place a Fall order with Stark’s.

My son is a graphic design major and swears that Apple is the only way to go. He purchased a new imac (looks like the same one you have) a few months ago. Love the huge screen. He also has an apple notebook to use for school. He gripes about my pc all of the time. The next laptop or desktop I get will definitely be an apple product. We haven't had any rain this morning. I guess you got it all. Have a great day.

Vivian, the screen is fantastic. My laptop has the same native resolution (1920x1200) but on a 17 inch screen, so you can imagine how much larger the text is on a 24 inch screen.

It looks like it's going to clear up here now!

Whoa!! You have been playing! And now my computer is doing weird things--the curser is moving farther and farther away from where I'm typing! Hmmm...
Anyway, my wonderful SIL bought my daughter a gorgeous white iMac laptop a month or so ago and she loves it. He's very impressed with it. And how weird it that--I only typed very once and it appeared twice, even if I try to get rid of one of them. Yikes! And now appeared is there twice and is...time to reboot!!

Hey, when I published, it all turned out okay. Must have been because I had to zoom the page in order to read your new layout. Double weird...

Nice new look for your page. I also had to enlarge the text to read it. These old eyes ain't what they used to be.

Great new layout, CJ. Could you make the text a little bigger, though? Sounds like you're having a lot of fun....Happy 4th of July!
