Harkness State Park
We headed out on Hwy 1 yesterday afternoon for a short drive and discovered this state park, which encompasses 230 acres of lawn and formal gardens along with the Harkness family's summer mansion; built in 1906 and deeded to the state of Connecticut in 1950. The mansion itself was closed, it operates as a rental for weddings and such at the rate of $3,800 per 5 hours of usage for um...like one of the patios!
The two interior shots were taken through the only two windows I was tall enough to be able to see in, so there's a bit of reflection but not too bad as I had a polarizer filter on.
